What Happened When a Consultancy Copied My Work Without Credit

Shame on you, Intergen!

You read about this sort of thing, but you never expect it to happen to you—until it does. I just found out that a company in Wellington, New Zealand, named Intergen, used images and content from my blog in their own presentations. They even titled it “Diving into the Sales Pipeline”—which happens to be the name of my blog series from when I was a Dynamics CRM consultant. The content was copied without my consent.

You can find my original blog post here. Where I come from, we call this theft.

Update

A digital marketing representative from Intergen contacted me. At first, he tried to “understand the basis of my claim,” referring to a 2013 post that used the same image. However, that image originally appeared in a 2011 post on my blog.

By this point, I was furious. The representative even questioned whether the two images “came from Microsoft.” Once I established that they were mine, I finally received confirmation that Intergen had removed the file.

I received no apology—only a paragraph deflecting responsibility for the theft and a request to take down this post.

You’re still reading, so I think you can guess how I feel about that request.
